Yoga Classes and Workshops
2012
Yoga held at the Ashram is a gentle meditative Hatha style. Teachers work towards the common goal of leading participants into stillness and oneness with the breath through asanas, pranayam (breathing techniques) and meditation.
Participants learn tools to develop a yoga practice of their own and practical ways to bring yoga into their daily life. All levels are welcome.

THE TEACHERS
Maria Ragozina
Maria started her yoga path in 2006 at the Prosvetlenye Yoga Center in Moscow, Russia. Victoria Begunova and Vadim Zaporozhtsev guided Maria into the theory and practice of yoga. In 2008 Maria moved to Sonoma and continued to walk on the yoga path with Sonoma Ashram. At the Ashram Maria deepened her yoga practice with Mariangela G.-F. and the visiting teachers from Italy and New York. Maria believes that the aim of a yoga teacher is to introduce students to the yogic state where body, breath and mind are in union.
Terri Updegraff
Terri started practicing yoga in Sonoma in 1990. She met Babaji in 1995, which deepened her awareness of yoga beyond the physical practice. She founded and ran the first yoga studio in Sonoma, Yoga Company (now Yoga Community), for 5 years. During that time, she completed two teacher trainings, one with Sarah Powers and the other with Jim and Ruthie Bernaert in the Anusara tradition. She is grateful for the gifts that yoga has brought to her life and looks forward to sharing it with others.
