Varanasi-based Ashram gets a place in Guinness Book

VARANASI: The 'Avadhoot Bhagwan Ram Kushta Seva Ashram' here has found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for its contribution in treating lepers. As many as 2.47 lakh lepers had been treated during 1961-1990 in the ashram through ayurvedic and 'fakiri' system of medicine, the in-charge of the ashram, Gurupad Sambhav Ram, told reporters here yesterday. He said that about 98,000 lepers were registered between 1991 and 1999, reports PTI. Maharashtra, Thursday, July 29, 1999
